I love the musician Raymond Scott. Ever since the first time I heard his music I have felt a close personal connection to it. Fifty years ago, he released three volumes under the title "Soothing Sounds for Baby." The music was intended to lull babies to sleep and was fairly repetitive and minimal. In that spirit, I have put together a large collection of previously unreleased gentle instrumental pieces in honor of two households that are dear to me. This August, my brother, Brent, and his wife, Katie, as well as my close friends Lyndsay and James, are expecting children for their first time. This collection of music, which I hold close to my heart, is dedicated to both of those households and to both of those soon-to-be little girls whom I very much look forward to meeting in the near future.

A word about the prodigious amount of music here: I am fully aware that this is an overwhelming amount of music. But part of the conceit of this collection is that it is for putting on and forgetting about, putting on and leaving the room maybe, putting on and falling asleep even. Some music is nice when its simply there and just another part of the environment. I can only hope that you will also enjoy the presence of these harmonies and wanderings…

This music was home recorded roughly between 2002-2014 at various locations and with a of variety of mostly substandard equipment.
